The Kadampam flower is one of the rare and auspicious flower available in Bharat the land of aromatic secrets as per Siddha manuscripts since Vedic period. The Kadampam flower is used in the worshipping of goddess Meenakshi, Kamatchi , Karthikeya, Mahavishnu. This divine aromatic oil is extracted from Kadampam Flower. This flower blossom during Peak Summer Season in India only for 15days (April). It carries a divine aroma that contains many medicinal properties heals various body ailments. In Sanga Kalam (ancient Tamil Period) Madurai Land of Meenakshi So called Kadampavasini (one who resides in kadampa forest) and Pazhani hilly town and house of Skanda is called Kadampa Vanam (means forest of Kadampa Trees) since this tree is found everywhere in ancient tamil period called Sanga Kalam. Later with the blessing and instruction of Bagwan Mahadev the Forest was cutdown to built Famous Madurai Meenakshi Sundareswrar Temple and city for people to live. In many Mantras of Goddess the name is recited and called as KADAMPAVASINI (In Mahishasuramandini Slogam).
